Minneapolis – May 9, 2019 – BLM Technologies, a leading single-source provider of complete technology solutions, today announced the company has been awarded the “Above and Beyond” award from ESGR (Employer Support of Guard and Reserve) in recognition of BLM Technologies’ extraordinary patriotic support of and cooperation to their employees’ spouses.
Debbie Schwake, vice president of Marketing of BLM Technologies, accepted the award on behalf of the company from Tom Simonet, Minnesota ESGR State Chair, and Col. Anthony Polashek, U.S. Air Force Reserve, at the Annual Employer Support Awards Banquet, held in Minneapolis on Monday, May 6, 2019. Pictured left to right: Mr. Tom Simonet, Col. Thousands of American employers, including BLM Technologies, have reviewed and amended their current human resources policies to ensure compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). However, the ESGR recognizes a small percentage of organizations that employ Guard and Reserve members and who have gone above and beyond these legal requirements. This year, BLM Technologies was among a prestigious group of only 35 award recipients, including some of the largest companies in Minnesota.
“We honor employers like BLM Technologies who go that extra mile to support their valuable Guard and Reserve members and their families,” recognized Simonet, who is also a retired Colonel of the Minnesota Air National Guard. “These Guard and Reserve members are a vital part of our national defense and a valuable asset to any employer.”
Founded in Plymouth, Minnesota in 1974, BLM Technologies, which provides wide range of professional services and total technology solutions across diverse industries, employs 68 people, several of whom are Guard and Reserve members, or spouses of these members.
“While we could not be more humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award, it pales in comparison to the sacrifice and duty that each of our service men and women demonstrate on a regular basis,” stated Kevin Flaherty, President and CEO of BLM Technologies. “We are grateful for their service, and proud to offer support and flexibility to our own employees and their families who are part of the Guard and Reserve that selflessly protect our freedom. ”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
